Job Description

This six-month IT internship is full-time and offers hands-on experience supporting the digital operations of a Swedish-American business chamber in Texas, one of the fastest-growing business regions in the United States. The intern is hosted in Dallas and works closely with the Board of Directors, chapter leadership, and fellow interns while helping keep the Chamber's website, member data, email communications, and event technology running smoothly across Austin, Dallas, and Houston. The role also includes applying AI tools and agentic frameworks to research, member engagement, and internal operations, with a human review before anything is sent or published

The IT Intern supports SACC – Texas's day-to-day digital operations, with a focus on the website, member database/CRM, email and event technology, data quality, practical process improvements, and AI-assisted workflows.
  • Maintain and update the SACC – Texas website
  • Support member database and CRM records and data quality
  • Assist with email platforms, member mailings, and newsletter technical setup
  • Support event technology: registration, check-in, virtual/hybrid meeting tools, and AV coordination
  • Help fellow interns and Board members with day-to-day digital tools and troubleshooting
  • Document simple processes and keep shared files and permissions organized
  • Track basic website, email, and event-tech metrics to support membership and communications work
  • Use AI tools to research members and prospects, draft first-pass emails and newsletter copy, summarize events and meetings, and clean or tag member lists, with human review before anything goes out
  • Design and run simple agentic workflows (multi-step agents that research, draft, and hand off work) for intern and Board operations, not custom product engineering
  • Support light automation around recurring research, event follow-up, and templates
  • Collaborate with Board members, chapter leadership, and the Business Development and Communications & Marketing interns
  • Contribute to strategic and operational initiatives that improve how the Chamber works digitally
PLEASE NOTE: Candidates are welcome to apply for multiple positions at SACC, it's important to highlight that accepting an offered position and subsequently accepting a second position at SACC is not allowed. Doing so will result in disqualification from both positions.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a university program or recently graduated in a relevant field of study
  • Able to commit to six consecutive months
  • Fluent in spoken and written Swedish and English
  • Comfortable taking responsibility and working independently
  • Structured, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks
  • Comfortable communicating with professionals and stakeholders
  • Curious about applying technology in a membership organization, not only in a software-engineering setting
  • Familiar with AI agentic frameworks (for example LangChain, CrewAI, AutoGen, or similar), including how agents plan, use tools, and hand off work
  • Comfortable using AI assistants (ChatGPT, Copilot, or similar): write a clear prompt, check the output, and flag when the model is wrong
  • Swedish citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Coursework or experience in information systems, computer science, digital business, or a related field
  • Hands-on work with an agentic framework (LangChain, CrewAI, AutoGen, or similar) beyond tutorials
  • Experience with websites, CMS tools, CRM/member databases, or spreadsheets
  • Familiarity with email marketing tools, event registration platforms, or Microsoft 365 / Google Workspace
  • Exposure to no-code automation (Zapier, Make, Power Automate, or Google Apps Script)
  • Project management or student-organization leadership experience
  • Previous international experience, academic or professional
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Interest in international business and cross-border relations
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

Benefits

This is a six-month internship starting in January of 2027. The internship does not provide monetary compensation as SACC-Texas is a non-profit organization. As an intern abroad, you can apply for scholarships. Depending on the university program, some students may also be eligible for student aid from CSN. SACC-USA will assist with the visa application process. To be eligible for a J-1 visa, you must be a Swedish citizen.

This position provides a unique opportunity to gain real-world experience supporting the digital operations of an international business organization, build a professional international network, and collaborate with industry leaders across multiple sectors. Interns gain insight into how business is conducted in the U.S., strengthen cross-cultural communication skills, and develop practical experience in website and CRM support, event technology, member data, AI-assisted workflows, and agentic tools while working alongside the Chamber's business development and communications teams.

DEADLINE: The application deadline is September 27. Recruitment is conducted on a rolling basis, and early submission is therefore strongly encouraged. Should any positions remain unfilled, a second application round may be opened in October.
