Job Description

The Events & Sponsorship intern's role includes planning, organizing and executing activities such as business seminars, networking events, and speakers events. The intern will plan, produce, deliver and follow up program activities that are hosted by SACC-SF/SV and in collaboration with other partners. This includes generating and evaluating event ideas, creating events, marketing proposals, budgeting, time lines, writing post-event reports and more. The Event & Sponsorship intern will also be focusing on researching ideas for new events and promotion strategies. 

A lot of focus this spring will be to work on our Forest Innovation Summit and all the tasks that are related. The first edition of the Forest Innovation Summit was held in 2022.

It is also expected that several business delegations will come from Sweden and the job will include preparing suitable visits for these delegations and to support and guide them when they are in the Bay Area. 

PLEASE NOTE: While candidates are welcome to apply for multiple positions at SACC, it's important to highlight that accepting an offered position and subsequently accepting a second position at SACC is not allowed. Doing so will result in disqualification from both positions.

Requirements

Required Qualifications
  • Higher education within Finance, Business, Marketing, Project Management or equivalent
  • Related work or extracurricular experience
  • Structured, creative, outgoing personality, salesmanship and initiative skills
  • Teamwork and leadership skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a positive, flexible attitude
  • Service-minded
  • Excellent verbal and written skills in Swedish and English
  • Swedish citizenship or strong ties to Sweden (for U.S. visa)

Optional skills and experiences:

  • Interest in Forest
  • Experience from organizing larger events
  • Creative out of the box thinker with crazy ideas for the Chamber
  • Experience of digital marketing and building a membership organization

Benefits

This is a 6 month internship beginning in January 2024. The internship has no monetary compensation, as SACC-SF/SV is a non-profit organization. As an intern abroad, you may apply for scholarships. Some students, depending on the university program, might also be eligible to receive student aid from CSN. SACC‐USA will assist with the visa application. You must be a Swedish citizen eligible for a J-1 visa to be considered for this position.
