SPRING INTERNSHIP AT SACC Texas 2024 The Houston chapter of the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce in Texas is excited to offer an internship position for the spring of 2024. WHO WE ARE The Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce Texas (SACC -Texas) is a fast-moving, eventful and energetic chamber. SACC-Texas represents a vast network which includes maritime, business accelerators, venture capitalists & private investors, CEOs and founders of industry leading companies, executive search firms, law firms, real estate, insurance and communication agencies. All this in the fastest growing state in the US with cities such as Austin, Dallas and Houston, each one representing a dynamic business life within fields such as biotech, sustainable energy, traditional energy, semiconductors, tech and telecom. SACC-Texas also provide access to an international network of chambers of commerce and business associations.

• Facilitate and increase business between Texas and Sweden.
• Connect individuals and organizations through our professional network. WHAT WE OFFER Located in the energy capital of the world you will gain experience and network with industry leaders and business professionals in a variety of business sectors ranging from traditional energy, clean tech, energy transition, health care to digitization. Please expect to commit around twenty hours a month and note that SACC-Texas interns are eligible for college credit if the work fulfills the applicable school's requirements.

Job Description

The Houston chapter of SACC Texas is seeking two dedicated and ambitious Event and Marketing Interns to join our team in January 2024. Detailed description of the position below.

As an Event and Marketing Intern you will assist with administrative, business development, marketing, communication, and events opportunities with the chamber. You will work closely with the board of directors of the Houston chapter and have direct responsibility for multiple projects, including:

• Overall responsible for managing sacctx.com
• Overall responsible for social media accounts
• Assisting in recruiting new Chamber members
• Assisting in membership program development
• Assist in producing a monthly Newsletter

PLEASE NOTE: While candidates are welcome to apply for multiple positions at SACC, it's important to highlight that accepting an offered position and subsequently accepting a second position at SACC is not allowed. Doing so will result in disqualification from both positions.

Requirements

• Higher education within Finance, Business, Marketing or Project Management
• Related work or extracurricular experience
• Outgoing personality, sales and initiative skills
• Teamwork and leadership skills
• Strong analytical skills
• Interpersonal skills/conflict resolution skills
• Excellent verbal and written skills in English
• Interest in web/social media
• Knowledge of Graphic Design (Indesign, Photoshop, or similar) is a plus
• Experience of (or willing to learn) WordPress is required
• Ability to take initiative
• Swedish citizenship or strong ties to Sweden (for U.S. visa)
• Driver's license

As an intern alumni of SACC-Texas you will gain experience that will provide a competitive advantage over peers in the Swedish or other job markets. The position can be managed remotely, from Texas, Sweden or Finland. As an intern abroad you are entitled to apply for scholarships. Some Swedish students, depending on their university program, might also be eligible to receive student aid from CSN. There is no monetary compensation for the intern, as SACC-Texas is a non-profit organization.
