About the host company

The Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce of Washington D.C. (SACC-DC) is a nonprofit association committed to fostering productive business connections between the United States and Sweden. Since its inception in 1989, SACC-DC has consistently provided avenues to explore and cultivate mutually beneficial professional opportunities between the U.S. and Sweden. As one of the 19 local chambers in the United States, SACC-DC collaborates under the umbrella organization, SACC-USA, forming a nationwide network for Swedish-American business interactions that has thrived since its establishment in 1906. Our chamber primarily serves as a platform for the exchange of trade insights and networking. To fulfill this mission, we regularly host business forums, networking gatherings, social events, and other engaging activities catering to both businesses and individuals among our membership base.

Job Description

The Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce of Washington D.C., Inc. (SACC-DC) proudly offers the 12 Months Internship Program, made possible by The Lars Bjerde Memorial Fund. This program honors the memory of the late Lars Bjerde, former VP of SAAB North Americas and a founding member of SACC-DC. The internship is a full-time commitment, divided into two phases: 6 months spent full-time at SACC-DC, followed by a 6-month part-time arrangement, split between the Chamber and a SACC-DC member company. During the second phase, interns devote three days a week to the member company and the remaining two days to SACC-DC. Previous phase two interns have been placed at esteemed organizations such as Skanska, SAAB North America, Axis Communications, Volvo Cars and AstraZeneca. After completing their 12-month internships at SACC-DC, they have gained invaluable experience and established an extensive network to further their international careers, both in Sweden and abroad.
