The Scholarship Fund for Swedish Youth Abroad and the Swedish-American Chambers of Commerce of the USA, Inc. (SACC-USA) are proud to announce the Scholarship Fund & SACC-USA scholarship.
The scholarship will finance an 11-month training program at SACC-USA’s office in Washington, D.C. from September 2020 to July 2021.
The successful applicant will assist in the promotion and development of Swedish business abroad for the purpose of gaining know-how of Swedish international trade and commerce, Swedish international companies and foreign business cultures, as well as communications and establishment rules. Specifically, the scholarship recipient will get the opportunity to gain knowledge of the Swedish-American business community, the SACC-USA network, and U.S. business practices.
The scholarship recipient will play an active role in SACC-USA’s work at a strategic and operational level. Under supervision, the scholarship recipient will assist with the following:
Accounting, financial reporting and budgeting
Preparation for Executive Committee meetings and Board meetings
Event planning – SACC-USA Summit and SACC-USA Executive Forum
Additionally, the scholarship recipient will be engaged in marketing activities, communications, membership services, program support, and project management. The scholarship is in the amount of SEK 190,000. The scholarship is intended to cover basic living expenses in Washington, D.C. Some additional private funds may be needed for travel, medical and accident insurance, and visa fees (currently $380).
Qualifications
The ideal applicant would have the following profile:
Current student at a Swedish university (or recent graduate)
Interest in international business and accounting
Strong interpersonal and communications skills
