As a stable economy globally, Sweden represents a link between Europe and the U.S. “With the current economical situation in the U.S., new opportunities open up. The question is just where,” says Nikolaus Weil, Founder and Managing Partner, Berlin Atlantic Capital (BAC).
Constantly searching for arising advantages, BAC is a new-thinking international investment house for alternative investments acting as an issuing house and investment bank in one. The interest lies in being actively involved, both by representing and controlling the alternative assets included in their funds. Although based in Germany, their “home market” is the U.S. and therefore, BAC has great interest in attending the Swedish-American Entrepreneurial Days (Edays) arranged by the Swedish-American Chambers of Commerce (SACC-USA). “We’re always looking to extend our contact base with the right people particulary in these challenging times. Edays draws so many impressive people and companies,” explains Nikolaus Weil.
Edays acts as the cob web for Swedish-American commerce hosting a program full of networking opportunities. It is the place to knot tight bands with cross-Atlantic business allies. “We’re especially hoping to meet creative companies to co-develop cutting edge opportunities and partnerships with,” Nikolaus Weil continues.
Today, BAC is already well positioned in the alternative asset industry, but looking to extend their presence in the institutional market. An objective that takes the right contacts to achieve. Turning to SACC-USA, BAC is looking to utilize the extensive network already present in the U.S. “SACC is extremely professional and we look forward to continue to work together and utilize their services further,” says Nikolaus Weil.
With 19 local chambers and over 2,300 members, SACC-USA is the second largest European chamber network in the U.S. The mission is to facilitate trade and commerce between the two countries. One of the efficient tools is the Edays, where theory becomes practice and companies meet and build business relationships. “We’re very excited to see the quality of the attendees this year and especially welcome new companies in taking advantage of our network and services,” says Gunilla Girardo, President, SACC-USA.
Both Edays and BAC have a soft spot for the environment. Edays makes a deep-dive into clean technology and BAC along with BBC financed and produced the international documentary film, “Earth.” Released earlier this year, it’s a hit already. Following the curve to date, the projected box office revenue for 2008 only is $100MN.
A large amount of knowledge is also to be shared through influential panel discussions and industry-leading keynote speakers at the event that takes place September 15-16 at Clarion Hotel Sign in Stockholm, Sweden. For more information, please visit www.sacc-edays.org/stockholm.
