Delegations from all over the United States, representing a variety of industries, are traveling to Stockholm Edays in mid September.
“I’ve participated in several Edays, both in Sweden and in the U.S. Through this process I’ve developed some genuine relationships with key people in Sweden,” says Russ Dennis, vice president, Leading Edge Hydraulics. “The groundwork that the Rockford Area Economic Development Council has established is helping our company forge great relationships that will enable us to pursue significant opportunities with major OEMs. “It takes time to invest in these relationships, but the potential will definitely be worth the effort,” continues Dennis.
The delegation from Rockford Illinois looks forward to making its third consecutive visit to Entrepreneurial Days in Sweden. This year’s delegation includes almost 20 representatives from the following industries: transportation and off-road vehicles, aerospace, metals machining, residential and commercial architecture, electronic testing facilities, alternative energy providers, and an angel investor organization. The delegates expect to meet numerous contacts within these industries and are particularly interested in meeting with alternative energy equipment and service providers to help the Rockford Region accelerate its efforts in this growing industry. The delegation will be led by the Mayor of Rockford and the Winnebago County Chairman representing our two largest governmental organizations from the region.
Another organization that is actively supporting the Stockholm Edays is Arizona Department of Commerce. To attract U.S. companies to Sweden they are hosting seminar on August 6, together with SACC Arizona, about the benefits of doing business in Sweden, while using Sweden as a gateway to the European Union.
SACC Georgia, who is hosting next year's Edays in the U.S., is busy preparing its Stockholm delegation which is focusing on clean tech, investments, telecom, industrial design and logistics.
