
The Swedish Minister of Trade, Ewa Björling, like to introduce herself as "minister for free trade" when she goes abroad.
Ewa Björling is now in the US where she, among other things, has taken part in the deliberation of free trade talks. She has also on her agenda to inaugurate the exhibition Innovation & Technology at the embassy House of Sweden.
“Innovation and Technology are very important parts of Swedish export. We have advanced competence in telecom, bio- and environment technology. We are world leaders in getting patents, but then something happen when we fail to start companies”, says Ewa Björling
“The [Swedish] government has priority on strengthen the transatlantic relationships and has dedicated resources to find out how we can become better in promoting Swedish companies on the US market. It is primarily visibility and close connections with US”, she says. The car show in Detroit is the next stop for the Minister of Trade.
