Chicago -a World Business Center
Chicago is situated on the south-western tip of Lake Michigan
in the state of Illinois. The distance from New York to Chicago
is about 720 miles (1150 km) and 410 miles (665 km) from Minneapolis.
Chicago also has excellent national and international transportation
links by rail, road or air.
Chicago is the city where businesses are put in the center.
Some 150 years ago the city started to grow, as it became
the important transportation link between the eastern and
western United States. A critical component of Chicago's business
friendly environment is the active and engaged leadership
role that businesses are welcomed - indeed expected - to play
in improving the public good. Being business friendly is common
sense. Business is the goose that lays the golden eggs - jobs,
taxes, cultural support, and philanthropy.
Due to the business climate and its diversity Chicago and
has become the world's largest and successful business centers.
The city plays a leading role in a variety of industry sectors.
The private sector and the Federal government have likewise
transformed America's traditional telecommunications hub into
the world's fastest, highest capacity, and most redundant
digital infrastructure. This makes Chicago the data recovery
capital of North America - and allows our financial exchanges
to connect to Asian and European financial capitals in real
time.
International five-star hotels, superb restaurants, major
league sports, world-cool entertainment, globally renowned
cultural institutions, and a smorgasbord of executive and
management lifestyle options nearly complete the picture.
The time difference between Chicago and Sweden is seven hours.
